Artlock Charitable Organization is a politically and religiously independent organization that works to ensure that children have a home and a safe childhood.
Our goal is that one day every single child in the world has access to not only food for the day and a roof over their head, but also a safe home they can turn to, adult role models who care about them and a family that won't forget you easily you have turned 18 years old.
Big goal, we are fully aware of that. But where do we start?
Well, we start with the Mer Doon organization in Armenia, which for the past 16 years has been actively working to give orphans a home, a safe point in their lives and the opportunity for education and the opportunity for an independent life. More Doon Organization is small in size but big in actions, where orphaned girls and girls from difficult socio-economic sector get the chance to turn their lives around.

Mer Doon
Armenia
Since 2006 "Mer Doon'' is the first and only organization in Armenia that provides a home for girls who have aged out of the orphanage system and have nowhere to go. Our mission is to help orphaned and disadvantaged young women in Armenia break the cycle of dependency by providing education, job and vocational training, and a loving home environment. Our program saves girls (ages 15-24) from a life on the streets, as victims of poverty, neglect, prostitution, and trafficking by teaching leadership skills and self-sufficiency. "Mer Doon" understands that orphaned and disadvantaged girls in Armenia are vulnerable to trafficking and abuse. They need to be taught strength, self-awareness, and confidence. We provide a solid academic education as well as ongoing and comprehensive job and life skills training to prepare our residents to live safe and successful lives as independent women.
Independence
Our goal is to instil a strong sense of independence in the girls who come to "Mer Doon". We accomplish this through our Job and Internship Program, giving each resident the opportunity to obtain meaningful experience in her chosen field of interest. We also teach the important skills needed to live both independently and within a family unit.
Education
Education is "Mer Doon" 's top priority! We provide a college education to each of our residents. We also teach trade skills like traditional handcrafts. We plan many extracurricular activities, special events, and educational field trips.
Empowerment
We know that at-risk young women in Armenia are vulnerable to trafficking and abuse. They need to be taught strength, self-awareness, and confidence. "Mer Doon" provides a safe place to grow.
